INSTALLATION OF OPGW ON 132KV to 765 KV TRANSMISSION LINES WITH CONDUCTOR LIVE.

Introduction

Steel Products Limited incorporated in 1917 is one of the oldest public limited company listed on the Calcutta Stock Exchange. It started as a SSI unit in 1987 for the manufacturing of Galvanized Hamilton Tubular Poles.

In early 2000’s, company started the OPGW installation Projects in India and overseas. We are the first company in India to adapt OPGW live-line & Off-line installation technology. We are the only company in India having hands-on experience of OPGW live-line and off-line installation in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar.

Highlights

We are the first company in India to execute live line installation of 550 Km of ADSS in live line conditions and 350 Km of OPGW in one circuit off conditions with Pirelli Cave e Sistemi Telecom S.p.A (now known as Prysmian) in 2003.
We had executed first live line OPGW installation in 2005 with Ariva T & D.
We have successfully executed live line OPGW installation in heavy snow zone areas with the maximum altitude of 2900 meter in the areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
We have successfully commissioned OPGW installation in three sea crossing spans of 1800 meters in Ganga Sagar, West Bengal.
We have successfully completed OPGW installation in higher altitudes spans with maximum span length of 1410 meters in Bhutan.
We have successfully completed OPGW live line installation of 2800 Km on 765 Kv links of PGCIL.
We have successfully executed contracts in Jammu Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh at an altitude of over 2500 meters in snow bound areas during the month of January & February.
We have successfully completed OPGW live line installation of 8000 Km on various 400 KV transmission lines, 12000 Km on various 220 KV lines and 7657 Km on various 132 KV & 66 KV lines.
